Because Pepie and his friends live in the Mississppi River he is very concerned about our environment, especially clean water. He has made a pledge to do what ever he can to increase public awareness of our natural resources, clean water, and river system and he will be the official "spokesmonster" for these causes much like Smokey the Bear is for the National Forest Service! Pepie's slogain is; "Don't be mean, keep my water clean!"
